Oil Refinery, Gas Plant, Solar Park, and Deep-Water Ports on Baboon Island
Just off the coast of Guyana and Suriname is the Guyana-Suriname Basin. The Stabroek area and Block 58 off the coast of Guyana and Suriname continue to reveal significant oil reserves, while the Demerara and Berbice blocks also show enormous potential acreage. This is near the mouth of the Courantyne River between Suriname and Guyana.
Industrial Zone with Oil Refinery and Deep-Water Ports
The industrial zone at the north part of the first two islands includes an Oil Refinery, Gas Plant, Solar Park, and Deep-Water Ports, and offshore oil & gas facility platform support systems for the oil & gas activities in the Guyana-Suriname, such as handling and storage facilities, offices, cranes, electrical supply equipment, fuel and water storage, helipads, marine docking installations, communication facilities, offices, water treatment plants, monorail, and solar & wind parks to effectively conduct offshore oil & gas operations in Suriname and Guyana.

Do not worry about reaching the Baboon Island Eco Smart City. The
city has a modern international airport with a 3 km long runway. The monorail runs on all three main islands and has a stop at this airport. The bridge between Suriname and the island ends at this train station
near the airport terminal. The main means of transport on the islands is the electric train and electric cars in certain sections. Visitors arriving by car should park their car at the end of the bridge and take the train.
